The first day of school went fine, in the sense that I expect all the course work to be fun, but I was definitely pissed off when I learned that the professor who was to teach circuit theory is away for a whole year. A last minute change of plans apparently, since they had him as the instructor in the Fall schedule. So, well, I was looking forward to having him as a Prof. cause he double majored in math and EE at UAF, then went to Stanford for his MS and PhD in EE, plus, our family friends know him and his wife and they say they’re cool; he designed part of the electrical system for the b-2 bomber, for security only 1 person knows the details of the entire system. His replacement is a young croatian, Tom, who can’t be much older than me and has a PhD. Certainly, he knows the material well enough, but teaching is a skill by itself, so I’m hoping he can pull it off halfway alright. His accent is thick but he speaks English surprisingly well. As a humorous aside, he’s involved with the sustainable living task force, so he knows Rodney and Eli. I’m still pissed off though, I was expecting the highlight of my semester to be taking one of the funnest classes from one of the most distinguished faculty!! When he comes back in a year it’ll be luck if he’s teaching something I haven’t already taken.
