POOD, People Opposed to Old Drivers. Sometimes POOD and MADD organize meetings in the hopes of finding truth in the saying ‘power in numbers’. However, as a result of neither seeing progress in driving legislation nor a shortening of the accident column in the police blotter, most of these meetings have morphed into informal social gatherings for singles, though this primary function isn’t known to anyone except those attending, those in the know. Calling the mothers of MADD single is technically inappropriate, but it is also true that much of their anger stems from under par performance and lack of libido from their bedmates at home. The bachelors of POOD are all too ready to take the mothers of MADD in the backseat of various car models, crossing off the Taurus and Pathfinder after their shocks have bounced, much like a bird watcher will check off the birds they’ve seen.
