I wonder what the consequence of the following would be: if ever since the beginning of the human species (an undefined range of many years, I’m aware) newborns were endowed with all the knowledge that had been gained by humanity up till the time of their birth, so that teaching the material in school would be unnecessary. What you would have is babies walking around (as soon as their muscles were developed enough) and talking fluently in as many languages as were being spoken in the world at the time of their birth. You would also have less time devoted to individual experimentation for interpretation of the physical world (less awe at one’s fingers/hands and of the capability to grasp objects and move them), since the understanding achieved by the experiments of earlier generations would already occupy the brain of the baby. In terms of innovation, creativity, energy solutions, etc., how many years ahead of where we are now would we be?
