Weather patterns tend not to change for at least a few days. Consequently, there is not much day to day excitement in the skies, with the exception of hurricanes, tornadoes and the like. And so the weatherman is faced with a dilemma. They have two choices: speak of the weather the way it is (stable and unchanging for the next few days), or try to evoke some excitement where none belongs. Perhaps out of boredom and to keep insanity at bay, the weathermen have opted for the latter option. A five day forecast in any publication will describe the same weather many different ways. Monday: partly sunny with clouds. Tuesday: cloudy with times of sun. And so on. Monotony in weather forecasting = the grim reaper to weathermen. I wonder when the weathermen will decide they would prefer to shake the reaper’s hand.
