I think blind people on city streets are incredible. It never ceases to amaze me how they know which bus to get on, which stop to get off. I’ll bet their visualization of the city in their heads is far more interesting than what we see. Or, if they’ve been blind their whole lives, they can’t visualize anything, and that’s something to think about inanofitself. Analogous to explaining color to someone who has only ever seen in black and white. The blind with walking sticks cross roads and conquer stairs like breathing. It makes sense for them to be so confident, a life of cautiousness would be torture…but I still can’t get over it.
